The Colloredo-Mansfeld spol. s.r.o. company provides game management services in five of the forested areas belonging to Ing. Jerome Colloredo-Mansfeld (JCM). In the Zbiroh area, this includes the Vlastec and Radeč hunting preserve; in the Dobříš area, the hunting preserves are Svatá Anna, Mannsfeld and Kozí Hory. These hunting preserves are very attractive habitats for game to live and the company works to maintain a proper balance between the animal population and the available habitat. The persons in charge of these game keeping responsibilities are the company’s respective forest district managers in which the respective game preserves are located.

Vlastec Hunting Preserve

This hunting area is located within the Vlastec Forest District and it has been well-known historically for its good hunting prospects. It is located in the western part of the Křivoklát Highlands and it includes many protected natural areas, deciduous forests and hilly terrain with romantic views. The area in which hunting is permitted is 3378 ha. The most important game are red deer and mouflon, as well as wild boar.

Radeč Hunting Preserve

This hunting area is located within the Lhota Forest District and its name is derived from the name of the highest local hill, Radeč, in the vicinity of which, the hunting preserves is located. Also made up of an area of 3460 hectares, the primary game species are fallow deer, mouflon, as well as deer and wild boar. There are also large numbers of the non-native sika deer (Sika deer) in the area and every effort is being made to reduce their numbers.

Svatá Anna and Mannsfeld Hunting Preserves

These are two adjacent hunting areas located in the Dobříš part of the JCM-owned property and they are part of the Svatá Anna Forest District. They are divided by the road connecting the towns of Dobříš and Hostomice, with the largest proportion of the hunting preserves located in the southeastern part of the Brdy Ridge below the hilltops of Studený Vrch and Stožec. The Svatá Anna Hunting Preserve has 2366 hectares and the Mannsfeld Hunting Preserve has 1463 hectares. These hunting preserves boast a unique species, which is mule whitetail deer. This common North American species of deer was first brought to the Czech Republic by the Colloredo-Mansfeld family, with a first mention of the species in 1853. Apparently the family was looking for some additional species to add to those already present on their hunting estates in Central Europe. Currently, these hunting preserves also include fallow deer, red deer and wild boar.

Kozí Hory Hunting Preserve

This is the smallest of the company’s properties, which are being managed for hunting purposes and it is located northwest, as the name suggests, of the village of Kozí Hory near Nový Knín. This area has a good population of red deer and wild boar game and has some strikingly rugged and beautiful terrain. It is only 798 hectares in size.

In all of the overhead hunting preserves is carried out for-charge hunting with experienced hunting guides, with accommodation in hunting lodges in the middle of forests and also in accommodation areas of the Dobříš Castle.
